Aaron Stricklin, 83, of Harrisburg died Monday July 21 2014 at Saline Care in Harrisburg.

Aaron was born June 8, 1931 in St. Louis to Shirley and Opal Dooley. He was adopted by Tom and Novis Stricklin after his mother's death when he was an infant. He married Roberta Maxine Bryant on Feb. 9, 1950 who preceded him in death on January 27, 1997. He married the former Shirley (Thompson) on Feb. 14 2007 who survives.

He retired after 50 years as a coal miner and farmer. He was a member of the UMWA. Aaron loved the outdoors. Aaron and his wife Shirley enjoyed spending time Dancing and Camping at Harrisburg Lake. His joy was his wife and his little girl poodle ""Angel""


Aaron is survived by his wife Shirley Stricklin; Two Sons: Tom (Lavina) Stricklin of Harrisburg, Gaylon (Julie) Stricklin of Harrisburg; Six Grandchildren: Jacob Stricklin of Paducah, Ky, Ryan Stricklin, Alicia Stricklin, Jessica Stricklin, Rebecca Stricklin, Amanda Stricklin all of Harrisburg ; Two great-grandchildren; Emery and Paisley of Rosiclaire; brother and sister in Laws; Lila Case, Donald (Verna) Bryant, Mollie (Ronnie) Cunningham , Stepsons; Garry (Sandy) Clayton of Harrisburg, David (Vera) Clayton of New Haven, Jim (Carol) Clayton of Mt. Vernon, In. and a step daughter, Toby Hise of Eldorado, IL. Step Grandson, James Clayton and Step Great Grandson, Zane


He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Maxine.

Per Aaron's request cremation will be accorded and he will be inurned in the Bethel Creek Cemetery next to his wife Maxine.
