Agnes Patton

Agnes Marie Patton, age 74 of Shawneetown passed on this life June 27, 2020 in the Harrisburg Medical Center.  Agnes was born east of Ridgway on February 20, 1946 to the late Vincent and Louise (Abell) Rider.  On January 28, 1972 she married the love of her life, Jerry Patton at St. Patricks’ church.

She was a retired cashier.  She was a member of the St. Kateri Catholic church.  Agnes enjoyed antiques, painting and spending time with her family.  Agnes was an excellent cook and famous for her chicken and dumplings.  She was a wonderful person with a generous heart, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed.

Agnes is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jerry Patton of Shawneetown, her son and daughter in law, Mike (Holly) Patton of Ridgway, her grandson, Trace Cooper Patton.  Also survived by her brothers, Charles (Cindy) Rider of Florissant, MO, Tom (Barbara) Rider of LeHigh, FL, and Tony Rider of Ridgway.  Her sisters, Jane (Jeff) Whiting of Galatia, Sue (Greg) Huson of Front Royal, VA.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Rider and 2 sisters, Rita Brown and Delores Scherrer.

Funeral Mass for Agnes will be Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway starting 10:00 AM.  Fr. Steven Beatty will celebrate and she will be laid to rest in the St. Patrick Cemetery east of Ridgway.
