Alfred L. “Bub” Hendrix, age 73, passed on this life, January 26, 2021 at his home after an extended illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. Bub as most knew him was born in Eldorado, IL on August 26, 1947 to the late Alfred and Mary Rose (Sork) Hendrix. On August 21, 1987 he married Linda (Doolin) Hendrix who survives.
Bub worked for more than 25 years at the Ridgway Popcorn factory and then for 10 years at the Village of Norris City. Bub grew up in Ridgway where enjoyed sports. He was very athletic loving to play softball. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball and University of Kentucky basketball fan. In his younger years was a good pool player. His real love though was his family, friends and especially grandchildren. He was a good man that will be missed by many.
Bub is survived by his wife, Linda Hendrix of Norris City, 1 daughter, Terry Berlin of Shawneetown, step children, Paul Money, Daniel (Brandie) Money, and Jeff Money all of Norris City, and Batrah (Doug) Brown of Willisville, IL. His sister, Sue (Hershel) Patton of Shawneetown, and a brother Randy (Sally) Hendrixx of Paxton, IN, Grandchildren, Chase and Cole Baker, Brooke and Braxton Berlin, Cody Crouse, Josh Brown, Jade, Jerrica, Houston, Ty, Jessica, Dylan, Canon and Paisley Money. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Dana Hendrix.
Visitation for Bub will be Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. His funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jason Sork officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Jackson Cemetery in Ridgway.
