Alta Ruth (Lampert) Moore, age 61 longtime resident of Shawneetown passed away Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Metropolis Health Care Center in Metropolis, IL.
Alta Ruth was born in Shawneetown on January 14, 1947 to the late Floyd and Hazel Louise (Awalt) Lampert. She was a homemaker and had bartended for many years. She was a good mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed.
Alta Ruth is survived by a Daughter - Darcy (Tracy) Markwell of Central City, KY and a Son - Ryan Lampert of Carmi. 2 Brothers - Otis (Betty) Lampert of Wichita Falls Texas, and Edgar Lampert of Omaha. 2 Sisters - Thetna Nesbitt of Wyoming, MI, and Sharon Kingston of Harrisburg, IL. 4 Grandchildren - Kendra Lampert, J.T. Markwell, Talin Lampert, and Travis Markwell a Step Grandson. She was preceded in death by a brother - Tommy Awalt
Services for Alta Ruth will Monday, December 22, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown where a visitation will be from 11:00 AM until funeral time.
Rev. Ron Johnson will officiate and Interment will be in the Westwood Cemetery, Shawneetown, Il
