Barbara (Musgraves) Cox, a lifelong New Haven, IL resident passed away on May 2, 2024, in Evansville, IN, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born March 5, 1947, in Carmi, IL to the late Perry & Florence (Blazier) Musgrave. 

Barbara was a remarkable individual who dedicated herself to her community of New Haven, IL. She was well-known for her caring nature and always offering a helping hand to those in need. Her warm personality touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Barbara found immense joy in spending time with her loving grandchildren. Family was truly at the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

 Barbara is survived by her son David (Amy) Cox, 5 grandchildren - Michael (Beth) Cox, Kyle (Shanna) Cox, Kelsea (Daniel) Nelson, Jacob (Maria) Cox, and Brody Cox - as well as 5 great-grandchildren - Makensey Cox, Krystin Cox, Sophia Cox, Aiden Nelson, and Elias Cox,  daughter-in-law Tommie Cox, sister Tonia (John) Strader, sister-in-law Janet Cox, 3 step-grandsons Logan Birdwell, Levi Birdwell, and Dalton Birdwell along with several nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Perry & Florence Musgraves, brother John Musgraves, husband Johnnie Cox, and son Mike Cox, and sister-in-law Nola Kay Williams.

Barbara's legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on through the memories she created with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation for Barbara will be on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Cox & Son Funeral Home, New Haven, IL from 9:00 AM -10:00 AM. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 10:00 AM, internment will follow the service at Union Ridge Cemetery.
