Betty J Merritt

Betty J. Merritt, age 63 of Shawneetown passed away peacefully Saturday, July 23, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Shawneetown on July 28, 1947 to the late Robert and Norma (Sutton) Brown. She was married to Dillard Merritt who preceded her in death. She had worked most of her life in the restaurant business as a bartender. She was a good mother, wife, sister and friend and will be greatly missed.

Betty is survived by 1 daughter, Christine Serna of Joliet, 2 sons, John and Thomas Merritt of Wilmington, IL 3 grandchildren and 1 sister, Lora Page of Shawneetown.

Per Betty's request she will be cremated and there will be no public service.
