Betty Jo Roark, age 91, of New Haven passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born to the late William and Ruth (Stallings) Muir on August 15, 1932, in Cottonwood, IL. Her mother passed at an early age, and she was raised by her grandmother Minnie Muir. She married Beauford “Boob” Roark on August 26, 1949, and he preceded her in death on November 23, 1998.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Betty worked In Gallatin County Government for many years. She worked in the following offices: treasurers office, supervisor of assessments, eight years Dep Circuit Clerk, and twelve years as Circuit Clerk. Betty enjoyed traveling, playing cards and socializing. Family was everything to her.
Betty is survived by her two daughters, Jill Bates, Jan Drone Phillips; five grandchildren, Andrea Waite, Chad (Amy) Bates, Kelli Jo (Keith) Quarles, Randi Vickery, Blake (Sarah) Drone; ten great grandchildren, Gannon Wargel, Griffin Quarles, Preston Wargel, Quincy Bates, Keaton Bates, Cade Hopson, Jenna Vickery, Liam Drone, Mia Sisk, Emma Drone.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jayla Beth Sisk; sons-in-law, Mike Bates, Vince Drone, Dan Phillips.
Visitation for Betty will be on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven from 11-1. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 1 pm with Rev Wade Halva officiating. Interment will follow the service at Union Ridge Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: New Haven Community Center.
