Billie Gene Taylor

Billie Gene Taylor, age 72 of Old Shawneetown, died on Friday, July 27, 2013 in Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. Billie Gene was born in Shawneetown on June 1, 1941 to the late Isaac and Amanda (Davis) Taylor. He worked at the Old Shawneetown Police Department for over 20 years retiring as the Police Chief. He had also worked in the timber business and at Ellis park working with horses. He loved to fish, tinker with guns and be around his family and friends socializing. He will be greatly missed.

Billie Gene is survived by a daughter, Tammy (James) Heffington of Uniontown, Ky, a son, Billy Gene of Shawneetown, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his ex wife and caregiver, Penny Robbins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Billie Gene will be on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. His funeral will be on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Ron Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown
