Billy Van

Billy Van 47, of Ridgway, Illinois, passed away on December 1, 2023 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on December 11, 1975 to Arval and Anita Van at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, Illinois. Billy had many hobbies and talents. He enjoyed writing and became a published author of many books. He also enjoyed listening to music and playing the guitar and the piano. Billy is survived by his father Arval Van of Shawneetown; his sister Chrissy (Sissy) Van; his brother Arval Van Jr. (Junior) and Valerie Van of Shawneetown; two children Brittany Van and Braiden Van; one stepson, Lathyn Overfield; two grandchildren, Bralen Rhodes and Lakelyn Overfield; his loving fiancé, Salina DeBose of Ridgway; three nieces, Casey, Chelsea, and Tessa; three nephews, Cory, Tony, and AJ; his aunts, Marlene and Roy Lynch of Ridgway, Joyce and Stanley Weddell of Waverly, Kentucky, Virgie and Brian Patton of Shawneetown, Mary Van of Shawneetown, and Barb Brown of Marion, Illinois; and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Anita Van; his grandmother, Novella Van; several aunts and uncles; and one cousin.

A graveside service will be held at Hogan Cemetery Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Rushing officiating.
