It is with deep sorrow that we share the loss of Brenda Kay Patton of Mount Vernon, Illinois.

Brenda passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on September 15,2026 at the age of 76. She was born on January 27, 1950, the daughter of T. Monroe and Wilma L. Horton, in Ridgway, Illinois. She married Stanley Patton on May 19, 1978. They raised their 4 children together in Harrisburg, Illinois, until they moved to northern Illinois, coming back to Mount Vernon, Illinois to finish their retirement years. 

She is survived by her Husband Stanley Patton of Mount Vernon, Illinois. Her children Sherri ‘Patton’ (Danny) Fielden of Olney, Illinois, Gary (Lisa) Patton of Floridia, Chris Goebel of Harrisburg, Illinois, Shelly ‘Goebel’ Keeneth of Mount Vernon, Illinois. Seven grandchildren Maggie (Adam) McKnight, Kirk (Lauren) Patton, Addie Patton, Audie Goebel, Fischer Goebel, Kyle Keeneth and Katie Keeneth. She was preceded in death by her Father, T. Monroe Horton and her mother, Wilma L. Horton both of Ridgeway Illinois.

 Brenda leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and cherished her. 

A memorial service will be held October 3, 2026, with visitation being from 2PM-5PM and a small service starting at 4PM.
