Carmen Ana Roe

Carmen Ana (Hernandez) Roe, age 63 of Shawneetown passed on peacefully on June 20, 2022 in Deaconess Hospital after an extended illness.  Carmen was born on October 9, 1958 in Isabela, Puerto Rico to Michael and Carmen (Valez) Hernandez.  On July 11, 1987 she married Everett Roe, Jr who survives.

Carmen had worked many years at Southeastern IL. College as a Pre K teacher, she loved children.  Some of her hobbies were cooking, sewing, taking care of flowers and singing.  She was a very religious person reading her Bible daily.  She will be remembered as a good wife, mother, sister, and friend especially by all the children she took care of.

Carmen is survived by her husband, Everett Roe, Jr and a son Jaron Roe both of Shawneetown.  Her twin sister, Carmen of Texas, sisters Yolanda and Wanda, along with brothers, Charles and Mike.  Her mother in law, Freda Roe.  She was also preceded in death by her son Preston, a brother Joe and her father in law Everett Roe, Sr.

Visitation for Carmen will be on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Land Street Church of God in Harrisburg, Il from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM.  Her funeral service will immediately follow at the church with Rev.  Buddy Hubbard officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Lindale Cemetery near Eldorado.
