Charles Dewell Edwards

Charles Dewell Edwards, age 79 of New Haven, IL died peacefully at his home after an extended illness. Charles was born in Short Creek, Ky on May 15, 1933 to the late Dewell and Ida (Shain) Edwards. Most of his life he was a car dealer. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He loved the outdoors, especially Coon hunting, Fishing and Gardening.

He survived by his wife, Beverly (Lathrop) Edwards of New Haven, 2 sons, Charlie and Dewell Edwards of New Haven, 4 daughters, Linda Lake of Newton, IL, Jewell Edwards of Mt Vernon, IN, Jessica Clark of Utah, and Adrienne Mason of West Salem, IL, 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. 2 brothers, Paul and Tom Edwards of Enfield, IL, 2 sisters, Kate Cobb of Mattoon and Margaret Hankins of Martin, TN, along with A½ brother and sister, Bucky and Janey Edwards of Alabama. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lila Edwards, a son, Bill Edwards, and a brother Harlan Edwards.

Charles will be cremated and he will be inurned at a later date in the Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.
