Charles G. York

Charles G. ""Gary"" York a/k/a Charles Owens age 61 of Harrisburg passed away suddenly March 24, 2008 at the Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg. Gary as most knew him was born in Harrisburg on December 17, 1946 to the late Buster Owen and Olivia (Owens). On July 4, 1977 he married the love of his life Mary (Hays) who survives.

Gary served his country in the Vietnam War while in the Army. He has been a Postal Carrier for the United States Postal Service for the last 12 years. He loved to garden, and take care of his family. He will be greatly missed.

Gary is survived by, his wife, Mary of Harrisburg, adopted son, Nick Widick of Harrisburg, Step Sister, Roberta (Edward) Friend of Harrisburg, adopted grand child, Emma Alyse Widick and sisters in law, June Martin, Linda Bode, Sarah Widick, and Patricia Hays. He was also preceded in death by his mother in law Emma Martin.

At Gary's request he will be cremated and the family will have a gathering at the Harris Pruett Building in Harrisburg on Friday, March 28, 2008 from 4 to 8 PM. Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway is in charge of arrangements.
