Christopher J. Bishop, age 47 of Galena, Ohio, died Sunday, July 24, 2011 as result of an motorcycle accident. Chris as most knew him grew up in Equality and Shawneetown, IL. He was born in Quonset Point, R.I., Jan. 25, 1964 to Larry Bishop and Janet (Adams). Chris attended school in Equality and graduated High School in Shawneetown in 1983. He then attended ITT in Evansville and Indianapolis. He married the former Rita Pritchett of Ridgway on April 28, 1989. Chris worked for ATS-Ohio as a lead technician in the robotics division. He loved to spend time on the river at their family camp fishing and hunting. He loved to be around his family and friends, talking and was always smiling. He was a good father, husband, brother, son and friend and will be so greatly missed.

Chris is survived by his wife, Rita (Pritchett) Bishop of Galena, Ohio, a son, Kyle Bishop and a daughter Rachel Bishop both of Galena, Ohio. His father and step mother, Larry (Lela) Bishop of Shawneetown, his mother and step father, Suzie (Raymond) LeBlond of Lewiston, Maine, 3 brothers, Aaron Bishop of Vero Beach, FL, Brett (Gayla Schalk) Bishop of Carmi, Bryan (Barbie) Dietz of Murfreesboro, TN, and a sister Lari Anne (Alex) Head of Austin, Texas. His In-Laws, Dean and Mary Pritchett of Ridgway, Sister In Laws, Renee Knotts and Elizabeth Hood, Nieces and Nephews, Cori Bishop, Aaron Brett Bishop, Harper and Gideon Head, Cory and Courtney Hood, Konner Pemberton, Noah and Liam Knotts. His Uncle, Skipper and Susie Bishop, and Aunt, Johnita and Jim Moore. Many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a son Ryan Bishop.

Visitation for Chris will be on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Funeral for Chris will be on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Rev. Larry Lewis will officiate and interment will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Equality.
