Cynthia (cindy) lynn Meadows, was a dedicated "many of hats" whose spirit touched the lives of many, peacefully passed away on August 1, 2024, in Carmi, Illinois. Born on December 16, 1953, in Mt.Vernon, Indiana, Cynthia lived a life filled with love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She married Raymond Lavern Johnston.
Cynthia is survived by her sisters: Cheryl Neuenfeldt, Trish Woods, Donna Owen, Kim Stacy, sister in law Susan Meadows and her Brother Will Richardson; children Carrie Ann (Dannie) White, Tracy Lynn Johnston, Raymond Joseph Johnston, Kendra Jean Kelley; as well as 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who have a special place in her heart.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her late parents Ortis Lynn Meadows and Anna Mae Spivey; brothers Robert Green and Gary Meadows; Sister Cathy Malone; and her grandsons Benjamin Yrue Sauls and Holden Bidabe along with granddaughter-in-law Kotye Buckman. Though they have left this world before her, their memories will forever be treasured in Cynthia's heart. In the last chapter of her life journey, Cynthia found immense joy in the company of her granddaughter Dezra Lynn Williams. She spent her last days in the Wabash Christian retirement center where she was kept comfortable in her final hours.
Services to honor and celebrate the life of Cynthia Meadows will be held at Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven on August 7th. A visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 12 Noon. The address for the services is 311 Mill Street New Haven, New Haven IL 62867.
As we mourn the loss of Cynthia Meadows, let us also rejoice in the memories we shared with her and the love she bestowed upon us. May her legacy of kindness continue to inspire us all to live each day with compassion and grace. Rest in peace, dear Cynthia - your spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
