Daniel Hish

Daniel L. Hish, age 69, a lifelong resident and farmer of Ridgway, IL passed December 30, 2023. Dan was born on September 25, 1954 to Doris (Luckett) Hish and the late Earl Hish. He was married to Pam (French) Hish on August 16, 1987.

Dan graduated from Ridgway Hish School. He was a life long farmer and farmed along side his father and uncle Charles Hish. He loved the family and worked long hours to keep it running. He was so proud that his sons worked on the farm along side him, and that his grandsons came to work on the farm too. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time at his lake house fishing or just sitting on the deck.

Dan was a member of St. Kateri Catholic Church. He worked many days doing whatever needed done when the tornado destroyed St. Joseph Church.
Dan is survived by his wife Pam Hish, two sons, Jason (Laura) Hish, Jacob (Courtney) Hish. His loving grandchildren, Daine (Alayna) Hish, Dawson Hish, Danielle Hish, Hadley Welden, Lane Welden, Ava, Johannah, Talynn and Walker Hish. His great grandchildren Barrett and Caylen. His mother, Doris Hish and sisters, Lisa (Steve) Harrowood, Renee (Dave) Zirkelback, Amy Steen, and nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Dan will be Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Cox & Son Funeral Home, Ridgway, IL. Mass will be Friday, January 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Kateri Catholic Church, Ridgway, IL. Internment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Ridgway, IL.

In Lieu of Flowers donations will be accepted for Gallatin County FFA
