Danny Lee Butler, age 80 longtime Harrisburg resident passed away on the morning of May 28, 2023,
at the Veterans Home in Anna Illinois. Danny was born in Harrisburg, Illinois on July 11, 1942, to the late George and Louise (York) Butler.
Danny retired from Townley Manufacturing and Engineering in Eldorado, Illinois. He held various titles in the company from Sales Representative to Plant Manager, to Vice President- Director of
Sales and Technology, and later as a Senior Consultant. He will always be known as the one who helped develop and start the Townley Manufacturing and Engineering Plant in Eldorado, Illinois with Mr. Jake Townley. He was employed with Townley for 42 years. Prior to working at Townley, he was a buyer for Harts Department Store in Harrisburg, Illinois. Danny was a veteran who honorably served in the United States Army. He is a member of the Harrisburg Masonic Lodge and Star General Baptist Church in Eldorado, Illinois.
He loved riding motorcycles and his off the road side-by-side, animals, traveling, antique clocks
and phones, and going out to eat. He was a wonderful husband, loving father, Uncle, and a friend to
many and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Linda Lee (Kimbro) Butler of Harrisburg, IL, his son Austin Tuff Butler
of Harrisburg, IL, Brother In-Law Danny Mace of Shawneetown, IL, nephew Jeff Butler of Harrisburg,
IL, nephew Keith (Kerri) Butler of Florissant, Colorado, and nephew Greg (Marsha) Fort of
Grantsburg, IL, niece Danielle (Wes) Bond of Ridgway, IL, niece Courtney Mace of Harrisburg, IL,
and several great and great great nephews and nieces.
He was preceeded in death by, his parents, his previous spouse Linda Rae (Lee) Butler, his brother
Delmar Butler, sister Ramona Fort, Father-In-Law Donnie L. Kimbro, Mother-In-Law Billie L. Kimbro,
Sister-In -Law Phyllis Mace, and two nieces Cindy Palmer and Kathy Browning.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Danny Butler can be made to the Star General Baptist Church in Eldorado, IL.
Visitation for Danny will be on Monday June 5, 2023 at Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. His funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM and he will be laid to rest in Campground Cemetery in Ridgway.
