Danny Cox

Danny Cox, age 64 of Norris City but longtime Gallatin County resident died suddenly at his home on Monday, September 23, 2013. Danny was born in Eldorado, IL on February 21, 1949 to the late Bernie & Rosalie (Case) Cox. He was married to the love of his life Carolyn (Cathey) Cox and they had been married for 46 years. Danny was a farmer almost his entire life and also as a machinist at B & W in Mt. Vernon, In. He always loved the outdoors and farming. He loved Draft horses and gardening, but his real love was his grandchildren. Danny was a good husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed.

He is survived by 2 sons, Brian (Penny) Cox of Norris City and Eric Cox of Norris City, IL. 4 grandchildren, Grace, Caitlynn, Emily and Caleb along with 2 brothers, Gene (Martha ) Cox of Ridgway and David (Marty) Cox of Shawneetown, and 1 sister, Wanda Roberts of Eldorado. He was preceded in death by his brother Jim Cox.

Visitation for Danny will be on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. His funeral will be on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 at the funeral home starting at 11:00 AM. Rev. Charles Fox will officiate and Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Cottonwood, IL.
