Dennis E. Brugger, age 71, of Shawneetown died on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 in the Carrier Mills Nursing Home. Dennis was born on the family farm near Junction, IL on May 9, 1943 to the late Francis & Madeline (Schoeny) Brugger. He served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the St. Kateri Catholic Church. Dennis was retired after working for 10 plus years in the Eagle #1 Coal Mine and then 25plus years as a mechanic for Scot Lad Foods in Eldorado. Dennis was a member of the UMWA and Teamsters Union.

Dennis as most of his family were very handy and could almost fix anything. He loved to work on small engines and woodworking. Operating heavy equipment. His real love was the outdoors where could walk the woods for hours. Dennis was a good father, grandfather, son, brother and friend and will be missed.

Dennis is survived by a daughter, Denise Brugger of Shawneetown, a step daughter, Tracey Gosnell of Junction, 3 brothers, Jim Brugger of Shawneetown, Larry Brugger of Equality, and Bob Brugger of Marissa, IL. a sister, Janice Gandhi of Springfield. 4 Grandchildren, Dylan, Kyliegh, Logan and Jacob and 1 great grand, Mason.

Visitation for Dennis will be on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown where a prayer service will be said at 6:30 PM. A funeral mass will be on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the St. Kateri Catholic Church, St. Mary's Chapel in Shawneetown, with Msgr. Joe Lawler celebrating. Interment will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Shawneetown with military rites. You may leave a note of comfort to the family at www.coxandson.com.
