Dennis Whoberry

Dennis Whoberry, age 72 of Omaha, IL (Cottonwood) passed on this life July 1, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.  Dennis was born in Mt. Vernon, IN on January 19, 1950 to the late Henry and Zella (Duval) Whoberry.  He was married to Polly (Blackburn) Whoberry who survives.

Dennis served proudly his country in the US Army (101^st Airborne) during Vietnam.  Dennis had drove a truck and worked around the Coal mines for most of his life.  He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt, fish and garden.  He was a good husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed.

Dennis is survived by his wife Polly of Omaha, his daughter, T.J. Rife of Ridgway, grandchildren, Kenna (Andrew) Rife and Devin (Brinna) Rife and great grandchildren, Korbyn and Everest.  He is also survived by 2 brothers, Kenny and Charles Whoberry, 2 sisters, Catherine Leishman and Doris Wells.  He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation for Dennis will be on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  There will be a private graveside service on Thursday at the Oak Grove Cemetery near his home in Cottonwood.
