Don loved his town of Ridgway and the people in it. His kind, generous spirit will live on in all of our memories, Don always gave himself selflessly and was always willing to help anyone.
Donald was a master electrician, Working for Richard Lamb at Reddinger Constructors in Evansville, Indiana.
He didn’t think a life was worth living without his favorite past times of hunting and fishing and he couldn’t wait till spring and summer every year to have another excerpt to catalogue in his story of life.
He loved songs sung by Johnny Cash and
Patsy Cline and loved to slow dance with his wife in the kitchen while making homemade doughnuts and oatmeal raisin cookies with his children on Sunday afternoons.
Such a strong man, such a sensitive loving man. We will cherish our fond memories in our hearts so that he can live on through us.
He had an amazing sense of humor but was a quiet man of few words, but when he did speak, his words packed a punch, you couldn’t help but listen and take notice!
He was an avid Catholic and belonged to St.Joseph’s Parrish since he was a young boy.
On February 20th, 2020, he past away at home surrounded by his family and he is among the angels now.
He lost his life battling lung cancer and kept fighting till the bitter end with every last breath he took.
When we think of our father we think of him as an incredibly brave, fearless, beautiful man with a brilliant mind.
Our father always gave us a lesson learned and he is teaching us still to this day, and what didn’t make sense then, makes perfect sense now almost as if he planned it that way.
Daddy thank you for loving us, thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness. We will continue living by your example abiding by the golden rule you fought hard to live by every day. It is so hard to let you go daddy.
Mommy, Kase and I pray to one day be reunited with you in Heaven.
We love you, daddy and are sending you “high signs” from Earth to Heaven.
A mass will be in his memory at St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway at a later date
