Donald G. Gwaltney

Donald G. Gwaltney, age 76 of Eldorado, IL died on February 6, 2016. Don as most knew him was born in Eldorado on March 24, 1939 to the late Herman and Gladys (Cox) Gwaltney. Don served his country in the Army and in 1971 he married Sharon (Dehn) Gwaltney.

Don loved football and played on the famous high school team in Eldorado in 1957. He also loved to read, sing at church and really enjoyed his work. Don is well known in the area as a carpet installer for over 50 years. Don was a member of the Our Fathers House church in Eldorado.

Don is survived by his wife, Sharon Gwaltney of Ridgway, a son, Troy Gwaltney of Nashville, TN. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Candace Iskowitz.

Don's wishes were cremation. A gathering of friends service will be held on February 13, 2016 at the Eldorado Community Center in Eldorado, IL starting at 1:00 PM. The family ask that Don's friends just stop by and share a memory of him. His ashes will be inurned at a later date with military rites.
