Donald G. Newcombe

Donald G. Newcombe, Sr., age 75 of Shawneetown passed away Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 10:05 PM in the St. Mary's Medical Center, Evansville, IN Mr. Newcombe was involved in a fire accident at his home on Sunday afternoon working on his plumbing.

Donald was born on June 30, 1933 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Bordie ""Doc"" Newcombe and Rachel (Price). He was a Truck Driver for many years and worked as a mechanic also. Don served his country in the Army. He loved to work on CB radios. He was a good person and was loved very much. He will be greatly missed by the community.

He is survived by: 2 sons - Donnie (Kellie) Newcombe of White Water, Kansas, and Rodney (Ashley)Newcombe of Peru, IN. 5 daughters - Rhonda (Darryl) Disney of Junction, Tammy (Vern) Gobin of Raleigh, IL, Carla (Efrain) Wheeler of Uniontown, KY, Kellie (Carolos) Rodriguez of Shawneetown, IL and Sheryl (Darin) Milligan of Shawneetown, IL. 2 brothers - Bobby (Shirley) Newcombe of Marine, Il, Tommy Joe Newcombe of Antioch, TN, 3 Sisters - Carline (Harold) Digby of Merriville, IL, Pat Wilson of Mascoutah, IL, and Betty Newcombe of Pontoon, IL.
15 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded by his parents, Daughter, Tina, Brothers Bill and James Earl and a Sister Shirley Hayes

At Donald's request cremation will be accorded and a Memorial service will held at 2 PM on December 20, 2008 at the Leamington Community Church with Rev. Buddy Hubbard officiating.

Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown is entrusted with the arrangements.
