Donald W. Slaton

Donald W. Slaton, age 51 of Shawneetown died on Sunday, May 1, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. Donald had been suffering from an terminal illness. Donald was born on November 20, 1959 to the late Elmer(Doc) and Cora (Gordon) Slaton. He had worked as a laborer. Donald was married to Alonya (Thomas) Slaton.

Donald is survived by, his wife, Alonya of Shawneetown, a son, David Slaton of Harrisburg, a brother, Jerry (Frances) Slaton of Morganfield, Ky and a sister, Linda (Slaton) Back of Shawneetown, Il., he was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Larry, Leroy and Lonnie Slaton.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown starting at 6:00 PM with Rev. Bob Powell officiating. Accorded to Donald's wishes, he was cremated and his ashes will be interred later by the family.
