Dorothy Chris Disney

Dorothy C. ""Chris"" Disney, age 91, longtime Gallatin County resident died on March 1, 2016 in the Harrisburg Medical Center surrounded by her family. Chris as most knew her was born in Muddy, IL on January 22, 1925 to the late William and Opal (Walden) Bean. Chris was married to Earl Disney who preceded her in death in 2008. She was a faithful homemaker her entire life. Chris and Earl enjoyed having Fish Fry's at Big Lake with family and friends, she loved crafts, quilting, flower gardening and oil painting. She was a member of the Calvary's Promise Church in Shawneetown, IL where she loved to be around her church family. Chris was very kind hearted and loved by many people and will be missed.

Chris is survived by her 2 sons, Darryl and Rhonda Disney of Junction, IL, and Danny and Kathy Disney of Morganfield, KY. 2 daughters, Dixie Lee and Ed Young of Hawaiian Gardens, CA and Sue and Millard York of Vincennes, IN, 4 grandchildren, Amber Disney, Tim & Amanda Disney, Dalton & Ashley Disney and Scott Jones, 4 Great Grandchildren, Cadet Zane Merritt, Wyatt Disney, Jordan Disney and Carson Disney. 3 Brothers, Dale and Maryann Bean of Hobart, In, Howard and Mildred Walden of Ledford, IL and Bob Bean of Muddy, IL. 1 sister, Phyllis Jean Bean of Muddy, IL. Chris is preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Jones, 2 brothers, Ken and Harold and a sister, Virginia Ruth.

Visitation for Chris will be on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown from 11:00 AM to1:00 PM. Her funeral service will follow starting at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Buddy Hubbard officiating. Interment will take place afterwards in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg.
