Eddie R. Colbert

Eddie Ray Colbert, age 65, of Equality, IL in the Leamington community, passed on this life, March 31, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Eddie was born in Chicago Heights, IL on April 30, 1957 to the late Ray and Betty (Rainey) Colbert.

You may know Eddie as a father, husband, brother, uncle, cousin, Paddlefoot, and friend. He loved truck driving, DIY projects, fishing, bowling, wood working, his motorcycle, a good joke, and a bad pun. He could always put a smile on someone’s face no matter the situation. The world will be a little less funnier without him in it, but he will forever live in our hearts and memories.

Eddie is survived by his 2 sons, Jason (Christina) Colbert and Philip Colbert, his ex wife, Mary Ann Colbert, 2 brothers, Wayne (Dee Dee) and Steve Colbert, a sister, Lisa (Bruce) Bernhard, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial service for Eddie is planned for April 15, 2023 from 1-4pm at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway where the family will receive friends to remember Eddie’s life with the life experiences they had with him.
