Edith Bentley

Edith L. Bentley, age 99 of Old Shawneetown died peacefully on May 22, 2011 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, IL. Edith was born on December 25, 1911 in Kansas to the late Charles and Grace (Green) Guffey. Edith was married to Ed Bentley who preceded her in death in 1975. Edith had been involved in Eastern Star, White Shrine, Rebeccah Lodge and the Moose Lodge when she was in Kansas. She was a Methodist by faith. Edith was a very kind hearted person and will be so missed by all who knew her.

Edith is survived by a son, Clark Bentley of Old Shawneetown and a daughter Myrna (Ralph) Groover of Canton, IL. Along with 4 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildrena and 8 Great Great Grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Connie, 1 Sister and 1 Great Grandchild.

Graveside services for Edith will be Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown. Rev. Ruby Bolton will officiate. Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown is entrusted with the arrangements.
