Edith Rose Patton, age 95 of Eldorado and longtime resident of Herrin died Saturday, December 15, 2012. Edith was born South of Equality, IL on June 30, 1917 to the late Lucian and Cuba (Raymer) Sinsabaugh. She was married to the late Joseph Patton who died at a early age. Edith was a hardworker, raising her family whom all got college educations. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Herrin hospital where she worked until age 75. She loved to do ceramics and crafts along with gardening, but really enjoyed her family. She was a good wife, wonderful mother, a good grandmother and sister and will be missed.
Edith is survived by 2 sons, Gordon Patton of Herrin, IL, and Phillip Patton of Fairfax County, VA along with a daughter Shirley Hayworth of Horsehead, NY and a sister Edna Ruth (Loren) Bean of Eldorado. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She is preceded in death also by son - Maurice Gene Patton, sister - Ethel Sweat and 3 brothers, Burt, Bernard and Earl Sinsabaugh.
Per Edith's request, cremation will be accorded and her cremains will be inurned at a later date in Colbert Cemetery.
