Ethel M. Seaton, age 91 of Shawneetown passed on this life, January 13, 2022, in Evansville, IN.  Ethel was born on September 13, 1930, in West Frankfort, IL to the late Joe & Mary (Paul) Homan.  On. May 17, 1975, she married Louis Seaton who preceded her in death in 2008.

Ethel was a faithful servant to the Lord, she read her Bible daily.  She was very active in her community and for good causes.  She will be remembered here in Gallatin County as a strong Democrat who worked many local, state, and national elections in the 1980s and 1990s.  She helped in many charitable organizations especially Cystic Fibrosis Bike a Thon.  She also enjoyed some sports, especially the Kentucky Wildcat Basketball team.  She knew all the players.   Ethel was a very proud lady always having the most pleasant appearance, She will be missed by so many.

Ethel is survived by her son, Steve (Robin) Throgmorton of Sturgis, Ky, and a daughter, Deborah Oxford of Duquoin, IL.  She is survived by grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Tirey, Jaime (Ryan) Brown, Sara (Jerrod) Owen, Becky (Scott) Byrd, and Joseph (Terra) Throgmorton.  Great Grandchildren, Flynn, Katherine, Samuel, Avery, A.J., Jasmine, Ethan, Nolan, and Alora.  She was preceded also by a son Dan Throgmorton, a sister, Elizabeth Jones, and a son-in-law, Jim Oxford.

Visitation for Ethel will be on Monday, January 17, 2022, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM.  Her service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jack Hall officiating.  She will then be laid to rest in the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown next to her husband Louis.
