Frank Skaggs III

Frank P. Skaggs, III, age 87 of Franklin, TN but longtime Ridgway resident passed on this life,  April 2, 2018 in Franklin.  Frank was born in Harrisburg, IL on March 15, 1931 to the late Frank Jr.and Florene (Brock) Skaggs. On January 11, 1959 he married Sandra (Butler) Skaggs who survives.

Frank graduated from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and worked most of his life in Ridgway owning and operating Skaggs Ridgway Drugs.  Frank had been very active in Ridgway all of his life, from civic organizations like the Lions Club to helping on Popcorn Day.  He loved to fish and play golf.  He is the last member of the Wednesday Poker Club consisting of businessmen in Ridgway.  Frank had been a lifelong Cubs fan and was so happy he got to see them win a World Series.  He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway.  Frank was always kind and helped others, a good husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He will be missed by many.

Frank is survived his wife of 59 years, Sandra of Franklin, TN, a son, Frank (Pam) Skaggs, IV of Franklin, TN, a daughter, Rebecca (Edward) Drone of Edwardsburg, MI, a brother, Dr. William (Charlotte) Skaggs of Venice, FL, 6 grandchildren,  Frank, Lynnetta, Dustin, Crystie, Meagan and Joshua, and 9 Great Grandchildren.

Visitation for Frank will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  His funeral mass will be on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway at 10:00 AM.  Fr. Steven Beatty will celebrate mass.  Frank will be laid to rest in the Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg.
