Freeman W. Harness, age 73, of Sturgis, KY passed on this life, May 16, 2020 in Deaconess Gateway Hospital peacefully with his family by his side. Freeman was born on the family farm where he still resided, on March 16, 1947 to the late Jodie and Ruby (Babbs) Harness. He was married to the love of his life, Selma (Oldham) Harness on July 30, 1990.
Freeman was a retired school teacher of over 35 years. He taught Agriculture and Biology. He worked most of his teaching career at Bosse High School in Evansville, IN. Freeman was truly the happiest when he was on the farm at home, he loved to garden, take care of the farm, be with his family and friends, but especially be with his wife, children and grandchildren. Freeman was a wonderful, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend and will be missed.
Freeman is survived by his wife Selma Harness, a son Curtis Oldham (Kia Gwaltney) and a daughter, Crystal Abner (Joe Amento). Grandchildren, Dustin, Nicholas, Ethan, Jade, Trent and Konnor. A brother, Tom Harness, 3 sisters, Betty Arflack, Fay Duckworth, and Mae Cowan. Mother in Law, Viola Oldham -Willoughby Brother & Sister in Law, George and Frankie Oldham, Richard & Rhonda Twitchell and Gatha Hise. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Harness, a sister, JoAnne Harness and a brother in laws Eldon Hise and Wendell Arflack
