Geneva Smith

Geneva Smith, nee Browning age 72 of Kankakee, IL died on June 6, 2016.  Geneva was born on 9/16/1943 in Hardin County, IL to the late Herbert Browning and Gladys (Hooven) Browning.

Geneva was married first to James Sparks who preceded her in death and then married Dan Smith who survives.  Geneva was a Homemaker.  She had attended church at the Ohio Valley General Baptist Church in Shawneetown.   She loved to visit with her family and friends and was a good person. She will be missed.

Geneva is survived by her husband, Dan Smith of Kankakee, IL, a son Ronald Winters of Kankakee, Il, Daughter Tracy Gamblin of Ownesboro, Ky , a daughter Linda Shipp of  Tuscon, Arizona

2 Brothers -  Bill Browning and Tom Browning and a sister, Mattie McConnell.

She was preceded in death by: 3 sisters, Mary Smith, Rose Lovell, Nomia Ruth Mix, 4 brothers, Hubert, Jr.,, Ray Glendon, J.W., James Sherman and John Harvey Browning.

Visitation for Geneva will be on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown starting 10:00 AM her funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 11:00 AM   Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Cave In Rock, IL.
