Helen Delores Powell

Helen Barker Powell 77 passed away peacefully at her home in Shawneetown Illinois on August 1st, 2024.

Helen was born on September 22nd, 1946 to the late Aurple and Jewel Barker. 

Helen had a heart of gold and a spirit of kindness that touched everyone she met she found joy in the simple things in life like spending time with family and friends as well as reading and studying the Bible. Helen was a woman of unwavering faith and she found comfort and strength in her relationship with God.

Helen is survived by her daughter Monica Rigsby of Shawnee Town Illinois her grandson Jereme Rigsby; granddaughter Tierney Rigsby; great-granddaughter Klaire Rigsby; brother Rodney Barker caregiver and friend Beverly Stringer as well as nieces and nephews 

Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband Bob Powell; her parents; Three Brothers Gary Barker; Tim Barker; Mike Barker and nephew Matt Barker 

Visitation for Helen will be on Monday, August 5th from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Cox Funeral Home Shawnee Town Illinois burial will follow at Westwood Cemetery
