Herbert Dobie Browning

Herbert H. ""Dobie"" Browning, age 79 lifelong resident of New Haven died on Friday, November 01, 2013 in Ferrell Hospital, Eldorado, IL. Dobie was born in the bottoms of New Haven on September 17, 1934 to the late Roy and Marie (Medlin) Browning. He served his country in the Army. On September 22, 1961 he married the former Patsy Stevens Browning who survives. He had been a Carpenter his whole life. He loved to ride 4 wheelers, play his Guitar and sing, go fishing and was always tinkering and could fix anything. He loved his family very much, and was the happiest when he was around children, grandchildren and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed.

Dobie is survived by his wife, Patsy of New Haven, his son, David Browning of Vienna, IL, 2 daughters, Carla Jackson of Evansville, IN and Lolita Brawner of Tallahassee, FL. A sister Barbara Givens of O'Fallon, IL along with grandchildren, Kali Browning, Austin and Dylan Anderson, Madison Jackson, Emma Vickers, Dana Grimes and Rebecca Fournier. Great Grandchildren, Kyle Grimes, Zachary and Jacob Fournier. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers, Paul, Frank, and David Browning, Sisters, Hilda Williams, Connie Sanders, Becky Foxx and Louise Poshard. 1 Grandchild, Lacie Anderson

Visitation for Dobie will be on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. His funeral will be on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Todd Holtzclaw officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Ridge Cemetery with military rites.
