Issac ""Ed"" Reeder, 88 of Aurora formerly of Batavia passed away June 3, 2009 at his residence. Isaac was born May 12, 1921 in Omaha, IL the son of Leslie & Mary (Lemons) Reeder. Ed was united in marriage to Iona (Awalt) on June 30, 1941.
Ed was employed by Mooseheart for a time before taking employment at Furnas Electric in Batavia. He worked as a Tool and Die Maker at Furnas for over 25 years. Ed was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Batavia and later a member of the Westminster Presbyterian in Aurora. He will be remembered as a quiet and friendly man who was always a real gentlemen.
He is survived by 5 nieces, Glendola Moye, Kay (Andrew) Arel, Betty Sptitaleri, Debra Moye all of Florida and Norma (Gary) Greer of Tennessee; 2 nephews, Lendel(Linda) Moye of Georgia, and Ronald (Mary Jo) Moye of Florida; special friend Dorothy Patzer of Batavia and Gene Downen of Ridgway, IL., friend and neighbor Roy Wyeth, 2 brothers Carl Awalt of Danville, Illinois and Harry (Reta) Awalt of North Aurora, IL and Sister - Opal Naas of Ridgway, Il. He also had 4 wonderful caregivers.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Iona, and 2 sisters, Norma Reeder and Violet Moye.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 10, 2009 starting at 1:00 PM at the Old Cottonwood Cemetery in rural Omaha. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery.
