Ivan G. Steele

Ivan G. Steele, age 71 of New Haven, Il died on Sunday, February 2, 2014. Ivan was born in New Haven on March 20, 1942 to the late Matthew and Opal (Simmons) Steele. Ivan had worked most of his life on the farm. He was a very social guy and had a lot of friends. He lived in the fullest always having fun, a smile or a joke for you. He will be remembered by many on his age, he would always say he was 27. Ivan will be missed by many.

Ivan is survived by his 2 daughters, Sandy (Danny) Hubbard of Harrisburg and Teresa Steele of Columbus, OH. 3 brothers, Allen (Sue) Steele of Shawneetown, John (Diane) Steele of Shawneetown and Glendal Steele of New Haven. 2 sisters, Esther Steele of Galatia, IL and Shirley Stricklin of Harrisburg, IL. 5 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.

Visitation for Ivan will be on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cox & Son funeral home in New Haven. His funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM. The service will be conducted by his family and friends. Interment will follow at the Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.
