J. T. Blair

J.T. Blair, age 71 of Shawneetown, IL passed away Monday, March 3, 2008
at his home.

He was born near Cave In Rock, Il on April 16, 1936 to the late Avalone and Ruby (Rash) Blair. On December 19, 1964 he was married to the former Emma (Turner). J.T. served his country in the Army. He retired after many years with Peabody Coal Co., working in management.

J.T. loved to play golf, cards and if you knew him very well he was a master at telling stories.

He was a good husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. He will missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by, his wife Emma (Turner) Blair of Shawneetown, IL., Daughter, Stephanie (Shawn) Hicks of Holeman Wisconsin., Daughter, Lisa Blair of Shawneetown, IL., Brother, Dannie (Mary) Blair of Shawneetown, IL, Brother, Prentice (Dottie) Blair of Bloomington, Il.
Grandchildren, Lauren, Bronwyn, and Gwyneth. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Almetta.

Visitation for J.T. will be Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown starting at 5:00 PM. Funeral services will be Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Honeycomb Church near Karbers Ridge, IL starting at 1:00 PM with the family receiving friends at the church after 11:00 AM. Rev. Harold Miller will officiate.

Interment will be at the IOOF/Empire Cemetery in Elizabethtown with military rites.
