James Dale ""J.D"" Cullison of Rosiclare, IL died peacefully on January 4, 2014 in the Flanagan Nursing and Rehab in Flanagan, IL. J.D. was born in Rosiclare on July 13, 1922 to the late James Otto and Pearl (Frailey) Cullison. He served his country in the Army during WWII. He was a proud 52 year member of the Masonic Lodge #1144 out of Rosiclare and a member of the Eddyville VFW. He was a protestant by faith. J.D. operated Heavy Equipment most of his life. He was a very kind and gentle person. He loved to fish, travel and tell stories of his childhood and always had a smile for you. J.D. will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by 3 grandchildren, Janette Bennett of Cornell, IL, Jamie Cullison and Janice Cullison both of Flanagan, IL, his Step Son and wife, Ron & Linda Garrett of Brighton, CO, 7 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchidren. He was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Ray Cullison, 4 brothers and a sister Juanita Smock.
Visitation for J. D. will be on Friday evening, January 10, 2014 from 4-7 PM at the Mt. Zion Church located on Il Hwy 1 north of Cave In Rock. Masonic rites will be performed for J. D. at 6:30 PM. His funeral will be at the church on Saturday at 11 AM. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery with military rites by the Eddyville VFW.
