James Edward Garza

James Edward Garza, age 90 past resident of the Equality and Ridgway area died on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 in Clinton, N.C. Jim as most knew him was born in Equality, on January 29, 1921 to the late Charles and Julia (Robbins) Garza. Jim served his country in the Navy and retired from Inland Steel as a boilermaker. He was Catholic by faith. Jim loved the outdoors especially fishing and hunting. He loved to visit with friends and family and was always like to joke and cutup. He was a good father, husband, grandfather, brother and friend. Jim will be greatly missed.

Jim is survived by his wife Edna of Clinton, NC, 1 Daughter, Virginia (Wayne) Brown of Georgia, 2 sons, Vernon (Mattie) Garza of Schererville, IN and Carroll (Carol) Lewis of Hobart, IN 1 brother, Jack Garza of Ohio, 7 grandchildren, Monica, Russell, Theresa, Diona, Larry, Babette and Kristina along with 3 step grandchildren, Thomas, Gregory and Jose. 22 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Helen, 2 daughters, Roxy Ann and Dorothy Ann, 2 brothers, Vernon and Johnnie Garza, Sister, Elizabeth Meyers, Sister in Law, Dorothy Garza and a great grandchild, Matthew Garza

Services for Jim will be on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway where the family will receive friends after 11:00 AM. Fr. Steven Beatty will officiate and interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Equality.
