Janey L Wood

Janey L. Wood, age 58 longtime Shawneetown resident passed on this life September 13, 2017 at her home.  Janey was born in 1958 in Savannah, Georgia to Paul David Wood and Vivian Millikan.  She graduated from Shawneetown High School and continued on her education becoming a Registered Nurse.  She worked for many years as Director of Nurses at different facilities throughout her career.  Janey had tremendous work ethic and was always busy.  She loved her son Rob and her grandchlldren so much as that was her life.   She was a member of the Shawneetown First Baptist Church.

Janey is survived by her son Rob (Tara) Wood of Shawneetown, a sister, Jeanie (Danny) Naas of Lexington, KY, grandchildren, Taylor, Jaci, Ava and Lenyx and 1 great grandchild. 

Visitation will be on Sunday, Sep. 17, 2017 from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown.  Her funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home starting at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jack Hall officiating.  She will be laid to rest in Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
