Joe E Randall

Joe E. Randall, age 78 of Old Shawneetown died peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2015 in Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. Joe was born one of eight children on the family farm between Shawneetown and Ridgway on April 6, 1937 to the late Allen and Mary (Fields) Randall. Joe retired from Bunge Grain Elevator after 30 years of service; he also worked at Wenzel Sawmill and on Rollman Farms.

Joe loved to garden and farm, look at the Almanac, help his family but mostly be remembered after retirement of walking countless miles around Old Shawneetown everyday picking up cans. Joe was a good brother, uncle, son, and friend and will be remembered by his kind soul.

Joe is survived by his sister Viola Oldham Willoughby of Old Shawneetown, a nephew, Delbert Oldham, 3 nieces, Gatha Hise, Rhonda Twitchell, and Selma Harness along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by, 2 brothers, Allen Jr, and Walter Randall, 4 Sisters, Mae Golden Dale, Lucille McClary, Clara Randall, and Fern Tarrence.

Visitation for Joe is Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. His funeral will be on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the funeral home starting at 11:00 AM. Rev. Steve Hunt will officiate and burial will follow in the Callicott Cemetery near Ridgway.
