John (Jack) Cray Morris

John (Jack) Cray Morris, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Jeffersonville, Indiana and a resident of Metairie, LA for 45 years. Beloved husband of Dianna Lee Morris for 28 years. Father of Mary Margaret Morris, Elizabeth Ann Nelson (Mark), Michelle Marie Morris (Brandon Jannarone) and the late Theresa Davis. Stepfather of Stephanie Baker (Gill), Wesley Ann Impastato (Mark) and Katherine Tubre. Brother of James Morris (JoAnn), Catherine A. Morris and Ellen Trott. Son of the late Carver Fitch Morris and Catherine Horan Morris. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Morris was a salesman at Mossy Motors for more than 30 years. He was a graduate of Loyola University, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of American Legion Post No. 125 and a parishioner and choir member at St. Mary Magdalen Church. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial gathering at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 6425 West Metairie Avenue, Metairie, LA on Monday, March 8, 2010 beginning at 11:00 AM with a Memorial Mass at 1:00 PM. Interrnment will be in Hogan Cemetery, Shawneetown, Illinois on June 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Military rites by the Ridgway American Legion and VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, Greater New Orleans Office, 2605 River Road, New Orleans, LA 70121
