Joyce E. Sharp

Joyce E. Sharp, age 51 of Norris City, Il but formerly of Shawneetown, died peacefully at her home on Friday, December 28, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born in Harrisburg, IL on December 25, 1961 to Edgr ""Doc"" McGhee and the late Virginia (Jefferies). Joyce married the love of her life, Bobby Sharp on November 22, 2001 who survives. She was a beautician and had her own business for many years. She loved Woodworking, Crafts, Gardening, Fishing and being with her family. She had a contagious smile and a wonderful outlook on life. Joyce was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shawneetown. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and friend and will be missed.

Joyce is survived by her husband Bobby Sharp of Norris City, 1 Son, John Oldham of Old Shawneetown, 3 Daughters, Amber Patterson of Shawneetown, Rachel Oldham of Shawneetown and Patricia (Benny) Tanner of Old Shawneetown, 11 Grandchildren, 1 Step Son, Jackie Sharp and 1 Step Daughter Megan Brooks. She is also survived by her father, Edgar ""Doc"" McGhee, 1 Brother, Jim McGhee of Shawneetown, 3 Sisters, Janet Johnson of Eldorado, IL, Joann McGhee of Shawneetown, IL and Julie Booth of Mineral Wells , TX. She was also preceded in death by a grandchild.

Visitation for Joyce will be on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Her funeral will be on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at the funeral home starting at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jack Hall officiating. Interment will follow at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
