Laura Beth Rister

Laura Beth Rister went to her heavenly home on Friday, August, 11, 2023.

She was born on June 15, 1926 at Norris City, IL, the daughter of Vollie and Jessie Newkirk.

Laura Beth was a graduate of Norris City High School, class of ‘44. She was a member of the United Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Norris City. Her church family meant everything to her and she so appreciated all the visits and cards. She was the Administrator of the Enfield Nursing Home and worked in the health care industry most of her life.

Laura Beth is survived by her two daughters, Sandy Griffith (Ron) of Brownsburg, IN; Kim Myers (Eric) of Norris City, IL; Grandchildren, Dawn Cerny (Joey) of Avon, IN; Bryan Griffith (Katie) of Chesterfield, MO; Melissa Floyd (Joey) of Flora, IL; Amber Floyd( Brent) of Norris City, IL; and Heather Owen of Enfield, IL. She has 18 great grandchildren. She was a loving mother to her children and grandchildren. May her kind heart and imparted wisdom live on in each of us.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 10 to 12 at the United Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Norris City. Funeral service to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland United Presbyterian Church, 204 S Powell, Norris City, IL 62869
