Lawrence Leon “Larry” Cook, age 60, lifelong Ridgway resident, passed on this life, Feb. 24, 2017 in the Marion VA Hospital after an extended illness.  Larry was born in Eldorado, IL on December 29, 1956 to the late Leon and Dorothy(Davis) Cook.

Larry or some called him, “Cookie” served his country in the U.S. Army and became injured having to leave.  Upon his arrival back home and after many surgeries, he worked most of his life on Farms around Ridgway.  Larry was married to Terina (Latta) Cook who preceded him in death in 2011.   Larry loved music and visiting with his friends, he will be remembered in his last few years of driving around town in his Red Truck or sitting out at the park by a shelter enjoying nature.   Larry had a kind heart and a wonderful soul, he will be missed.

Larry is survived by, a sister, Ellen (Lyndal) Sork of Ridgway, brothers,  Frank (Linda) Cox of Norris City, Charles W. Cox of Ridgway and Eddie Cunningham of Huntingburg, IN.  Several nieces and nephews.

Per Larry’s request he will be cremated and a graveside service with Military rites will be held at a later date at the Jackson Cemetery in Ridgway.
