Lawrence Martin

Lawrence M. Martin, age 80, longtime Shawneetown resident passed on this life April 1, 2022 in the Good Samatarian Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL.   Lawrence was born in
Shawneetown Janury 18, 1942 to the late John and Mary (Seely) Flahardy. 

Lawrence worked most of his life on farms, trucking and was a member of the Teamster Union Local 347.   He loved to fish and hunt, watch Westerns and Mysteries on TV, visit with his friends  and drive around Shawneetown.  He always had kind word, smile and loved to visit with his friends.  He really enjoyed his dogs, Susie and Skipper.

Lawrence is survived by his daughter, June Martin of Shawneetown  and always treated Mikayla Breeden as a daughter also.  He has 5 brothers,  Gary, Clifford, Mike, Rex and Monty Flahardy. And sisters, Roberta Thompson and Norma Jones.  He was preceded in death by a brother Danny Martin and sisters, Bertie Brooks and Becky Christian

Visitation for Lawrence will be on Monday, April 4, 2022 from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown.  A graveside service will immediately follow the visitation at Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown.
