Lola Joyce Rhodes Smith, age 82 of Albion died at her home where she lived with her daughter and son in law on Sunday, November 15, 2015. Lola Joyce was born on December 14, 1932 near Epworth. Her parents were the late Willard F. and Lula (Ridenour) Ackerman. She was homemaker who was known for her Homemade Bread, loved to sew, she loved to square dance and was a member of the Shooting Stars Square Dance Club, volunteered for the needy and help in her church. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Albion. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed.

Lola is survived by a son, Joseph E. ""Dusty"" (Michelle) Rhodes, daughters, Brenda (Terry) Moore, Lois (Rick) Mercer, Sharon (Craig) Whitler and Rebecca(Robert Carpenter) Stanley. 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 1 Sister in law, Mrs. E. Wayne (Frances) Ackerman, 2 brothers, William (Pat) Ackerman, Kenneth (Patsy) Ackerman. She is preceded in death by 6 brothers, 4 sister in laws and 1 brother in law, Fred and Dorothy, James and Rosemary, Herbert and Helen, Howard and Wanda, E. Wayne and Joseph A. and a sister Lulu and John Vinson.

Visitation for Lola will be on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 10:00AM to 12 Noon at the First Christian Church in Carmi and her funeral service will immediately follow starting at 12 Noon at the church. Rev. Kirk Rowe will officiate and her burial will follow in the Kuykendall Cemetery East of Carmi.
