Lucy Rosetta Darnell, age 89 of Ridgway passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008 in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Rose as most knew her was born in Uniontown, Kentucky on October 24, 1919 to the late Joseph and Betty (Mann) Hagan.
On August 18, 1934 she married Walter Darnell who preceded her in death in 1979. She was a homemaker and loved to play all type of games, but her real passion was Bingo playing almost every night. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be greatly missed by the Ridgway community.
She is survived by 1 son, Marlin Darnell of Portage, In, 2 Daughters, Helen (Tom) Monroe, of Ridgway and Cleona (Jim) Ozee of Omaha, IL. 11 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren, 27 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Monroe, 3 sisters, 3 brothers and 1 great grandchild.
Visitation for Rose will be Thursday, December 11, 2008 at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Hours will be 4 PM to 7 PM.
Funeral for Rose will be Friday, December 12, 2008 starting at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Rob Gallion officiating. Interment will be in the City Cemetery in Uniontown, KY.
