Wildwood, Fla. -- Mabel Hill Ashley (Richardson), 74, of Wildwood, Fla., passed into heaven on Sunday, May 12, 2013. She was born in New Haven on March 17, 1939 to Woodrow and Frances Hill. She was an employee of Sparr Building and Farm Supply, but her full-time job was making people smile. She had a kind word and warm hug for everyone she knew. She was a true believer who was dedicated to her faith and her family, and was greatly loved by all. She is survived by her children, Judy Chambers, Steve (Dodie) Richardson, and Dianna Richardson (Amy), her brother, Woody (Anna) Hill, her granddaughter, Shauna, three step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mary Lee, and her grandson, Craig. There will be a memorial service at Adamsville Baptist Church in Wildwood, Fla. at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013. An additional memorial service for family and friends will be held in her hometown of New Haven at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at the Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Presbyterian Church in New Haven.
