Margaret Jane Browning

Margaret Jane Browning, age 90 lifelong resident of New Haven passed on this life March 8, 2017 in the Hamilton County Medical Center in McLeansboro, IL.  Margaret was born in New Haven on October 29, 1926, the only girl of 8 children to the late Ralph and Ella (Roark) Mears.  In May of 1941 she married the love of her life, Franklin Browning who preceded her in death.  She was a homemaker, wife, mother,  and grandmother to her family.  She had been a member of the Green Tabernacle Church in New Haven for many years before it closed.

Margaret is survived by: 1 son, Ivan (Shirley) Browning of New Haven, 1 daughter in law, Sharon Browning and a son in law, Merlin Goodrich, 1 brother, Jay Mears. 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sons Michael, Marvin and Donnie Browning, 1 daughter Sharon Goodrich, 1 grandson, 1 great grandchild and 6 brothers.

Visitation for Margaret will be on Saturday, March 11, 2017at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  Her funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 1:00 PM with Rev. Cord Bear officiating.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.
